Our department provides both Fire and EMS services for the community of Delaware Township, an unincorporated area in Polk County, IA. The township is comprised of approximately 18 square miles and 8,400 residents. This area also includes large sections of I80, I35, and I235 and the East Mixmaster.
It is the mission of the Delaware Township Fire Department to deliver in a highly competent, professional manner, a combination of proactive and reactive Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services that will provide the highest possible degree of protection to Delaware Township residents and their property, from the dangers of modern society.
Evan has worked for Delaware Township since 2010. He is a nationally registered Advanced EMT, Certified Ambulance Coder, and Certified Ambulance Compliance Officer. His fire certifications include Firefighter II, Fire Officer II, Instructor I, Inspector I, & HazMat Technician. He has also obtained multiple FEMA and National Fire Academy certifications.
Mike has worked for the Delaware Township since 2015. He is an Iowa EMT. Some of his fire certifications include Firefighter II, Fire Officer II, Inspector I, HazMat Operations, Driver Operator-Pumper, Driver Operator-Aerial, both Fire & EMS Instructor, and many others. Mike has been working in the fire service since 1983. He has attended FDIC on numerous occasions and brings a large range of knowledge to the department.
